         Kosher Ceilidh in Glasgow!

  On their last night in Scotland, the Soul Train steamed into Giffnock for the biggest Kosher Ceilidh of the tour, a full house of around 160 including the 5th Giffnock Brownies and Guides. The atmosphere was electric as Danny and David sang, and played guitar, clarinet, recorder, mouth organ, and jambe drum in a wide selection of Israeli, Scottish, and English songs. They kept the audience mesmerised with their stories and jokes and encouraged everyone to join in, singing and dancing around the large hall.
 

After an interval for everyone to catch their breath (and enjoy some refreshments!) the Soul Train musicians were joined by Rabbi Danny Bergson of Newton Mearns Synagogue who sang and played the guitar.   
 
   The evening ended all too soon but it was clear that everyone will remember it with pleasure for a long time to come.

SCoJeC Chair, Walter Sneader thanked the musicians for their enthusiasm throughout their whistle-stop Kosher Ceilidh tour of Scotland – most of it in the pouring rain! – after which SCoJeC Director, Ephraim Borowski, presented Sara, David, and Danny with tins of shortbread and tartan scarves as mementos of their trip.
